Shopping on the Internet enables us to access many waxing skis stores and view their offerings whilst having comfort of our own home. The most misleading thing about shopping on the Internet for waxing skis is that it is unsafe and insecure, this however is far from the truth. Even if your credit card number is stolen and used to make unauthorised purchases this is not your fault and most credit card companies insure waxing skis purchases with fraud protection insurance, at no extra cost to you.
It is a hassle if your card number is ever stolen but in all likely-hood you have more of a chance having your card number stolen at an actual waxing skis store than on the Internet. Below are various steps you can take to help ensure safe and secure waxing skis shopping. more…

Laser hair removal has come a long way since the first laser for hair removal received FDA clearance in the mid 1990’s. Older generation lasers were very slow, very painful and worked only on individuals with very dark hair and very light skin. Today, lasers can work on all skin colors and some lasers are even safe for treating tanned skinned. When considering a hair removal laser treatment, consumers should ask the following questions:
Is this laser FDA approved for hair removal on my skin type and hair color?
What is the spot size of the laser? In order for a laser to perform quickly and most effectively, it should have an 18mm spot size
Is the laser equipped with a dynamic cooling device (DCD)? This is the safest and most consistent method of cooling the skin. It ensures patient safety and comfort.
Is there a board-certified physician on site? A facility without appropriate medical supervision may not be the safest environment for a laser procedure.
Are treatments sold in a package or one at a time? Businesses that want your money up front may not have the confidence that their laser will perform effectively. A client should be able to pay for treatments as needed without paying all at once.
Are complimentary consultations and spot tests available? You should be able to meet the technician and experience a pulse or two before committing to a treatment.

She is the recipient of the 2005 Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Southern Spa Conference. In 2004, Kile was the winner of the ABBIES award for best editorial feature in an industry (spa) publication. She is often a featured speaker at medical spa and skin care conferences, and interviews with her can often be seen on television and in consumer beauty publications.
Blue Water Spa is a plastic surgery medical spa and laser center owned by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Law and his wife Kile Law.
In 2006, Blue Water Spa will begin offering consulting services for medical spas across the country. The company will provide DVD’s and manuals on topics such as marketing, business plans, treatment protocols, spa layout and more. Additionally, small courses including tours of Blue Water Spa or on-site individualized consulting will be available. Although there have been many requests, franchises of Blue Water Spa will not be available. The Laws’ believe that spas require a personal touch that a franchise cannot offer.
Blue Water Spa and Dr. Law have been featured extensively in both local and national media and have been recognized in “best of” polls in their metropolitan area since opening in 2003. Dr. Law moved his aesthetic surgery practice from Beverly Hills, CA to his hometown of Raleigh, NC to start a family. The Laws’ have two young sons, both born in Raleigh. Rosacea, spider veins, sun-damaged skin, age spots, acne and unwanted hair - these are some of the cosmetic skin conditions that increasing numbers of women and men are seeking to alleviate -often spending large amounts of money and enduring painful procedures, with mixed results.
The revolutionary new ELOS (electro-optical synergy) technology, nowoffered locally by Dr. Leslie Gerstman at Medical Aesthetics, is the safest,
most effective and comfortable solution.
The ELOS technology is a breakthrough in cosmetic lasers as it is the first to use a unique combination of radio frequency and light to treat a wide
array of skin conditions as well as the only technology that is able to remove all hair colors (e.g., blond, red, brown). It can also be used safely on all skin types (e.g., Indian, Asian, African American). With ELOS, we can isolate the treatment area and leave the surrounding skin free from potentially harmful side effects.
Using gentle pulses of two targeted energies means better results with lower overall energy output - assuring the highest level of safety and
comfort.
“What separates ELOS technology from the rest is that the laser is truly color-blind,” states Dr. Gerstman, owner of Medical Aesthetics. “It allows me to treat clients of all ethnicities without the risk of burning them. I can even treat tan clients throughout the summer months with no risk.”
ELOS has been proven to deliver superior results, and marks a major leap forward in the technology of medical aesthetic devices. Call Dr. Gerstman at 201-795-5455 for interviews and further information.

Palomar Medical Technologies Inc (Nasdaq: PMTI), a leading researcher and developer of light-based systems for cosmetic treatments, today announced additional funding of $888,000 and a 12 month contract extension from the Department of the Army to continue development of a light-based self-treatment device for Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (”PFB”). The initial $2.5 million research contract was awarded to Palomar in February 2004 and was scheduled to last for nineteen months. This program extension will allow Palomar to evaluate new technology beyond the current research phase of the program and incorporate those
elements in the subsequent development of a self use device. This extension funds the program through October 2006.
PFB, commonly known as “razor bumps,” is a chronic, dermatological disorder that currently afflicts over 50% of African Americans and Hispanic military personnel. The condition, caused by shaving, occurs when the hair shaft embeds itself in the skin; resulting in painful pustules and possible disfigurement if left untreated. To date, the only effective treatment is the cessation of shaving. The high incidence of this condition in the military directly impacts unit cohesion and combat readiness as soldiers are unable to comply with military grooming requirements and are not able to wear “tight fitting” gas masks and other protective equipment. The changing demographics of the US military has led to an increase of administrative discharges attributed to PFB and has heightened the need for an alternate solution.
Commenting on the additional funding, Dr. Michael Smotrich, Palomar’s Chief Technical Officer, remarked, “Palomar is strongly motivated to provide the military, and eventually the civilian community, with a self-treatment device capable of controlling PFB. This product development, based on the “hair management” technology which we have contributed to over many years, will remove an obstacle facing African Americans and Hispanics both in the service and in the private sector. This program extension will help us to provide the government a complete evaluation of current technology and will ensure an optimum solution to the PFB problem.”
This contract is awarded by the Department of Defense Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) of the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) to private and public organizations having demonstrated capability in solving “Military Relevant” medical problems. This work is supported by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command under Contract No. W81XWH-04-C-0069. The views, opinions, and/or findings contained in this report are those of Palomar and should not be construed as an official Department of the Army position or decision unless so designated by other documentation.
About Palomar Medical Technologies Inc: Palomar is a leading researcher and developer of light-based systems for cosmetic treatments. Palomar pioneered the optical hair removal field, when, in 1997, it introduced the first high-powered laser hair removal system. Since then, many of the major advances in light-based hair removal have been based on Palomar technology. There are now millions of light-based cosmetic procedures performed around the world every year in physician offices, clinics, spas and salons. Palomar is testing many new and exciting applications to further advance the hair removal market and other cosmetic applications. Palomar is uniquely focused on developing proprietary light-based technology for introduction to the mass markets. Palomar has an agreement with The Gillette Company (NYSE: G) to develop and potentially commercialize a patented home-use, light-based hair
removal device for women, and an agreement with Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies to develop and potentially commercialize home-use, light-based devices for reducing or reshaping body fat including cellulite, reducing the
appearance of skin aging, and reducing or preventing acne. For more information on Palomar and its products, visit Palomar’s website at http://www.palomarmedical.com. As the Internet wideness in capacity, hair removal tips traders gain more experience in offering products for sale. One of the big advantages that online hair removal tips traders have over shop front hair removal tips stores is that the capital costs are significantly less.
A traditional hair removal tips outlet would have to employ staff, runs lots of hair removal tips related advertising and pay rents or taxes. When a hair removal tips business is placed online these overheads are significantly cut down. more…

Raleigh Laser Hair Removal and medical spa expert Kile Law Provides guidelines for choosing the appropriate Laser Hair Removal system.
Which laser to choose? -Spot size
The spot size of a laser determines how much skin area can be covered per laser pulse. Lasers with larger spot sizes (18 mm)can cover more area much more quickly. For example, a laser hair removal treatment of the back or full legs could take as long as 2 hours with older lasers. Today, these areas can be completely treated in less than 20 minutes. The spot size not only determines the speed and comfort of the treatment, but the efficacy as well. In the April 2004 issue of Derm Surgery, a peer reviewed medical study showed that lasers with an 18 mm spot size (exclusive to the Candela GentleLase www.candelallaser.com ) was more effective at removing hair than lasers with smaller spot sizes.
-Cooling systems
Each laser has a different way of cooling the skin. Some lasers use a topical cooling gel, others use a chilled tip. The most consistent, comfortable and safest way to cool the skin is with a Dynamic Cooling Device or DCD. Lasers equipped with a DCD cooling system are so effective in providing cooling to the skin that no topical numbing creams are necessary.
-Light Sources
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Systems are not lasers. They can remove hair, but recent peer reviewed medical studies show that most lasers are much more effective in treating unwanted hair than IPL systems
Choosing a Laser Hair Removal Center
Board Certified Physician
Many laser hair removal centers today operate without a physician. It is important to be certain that a board certified physician is on the premises or available in case of a concern. To determine whether or not a physician is board certified, go to www.abms.org. Board certified plastic surgeons can be found at www.plasticsurgery.org
Possible complications:
Complications with newer laser hair removal systems is not common, particularly if the laser is equipped with a Dynamic Cooling Device. It is important, however to determine how the laser clinic handles potential complications. Is there a physician available to examine the problem and prescribe medications if necessary?
Packages of treatments
Laser Hair Removal works on hair while it is in the growth phase only. At any given time, between 20% to 40% of the hair on any face or body area may be in a growth phase. Multiple treatments are required for complete clearance of the hair. However, each person may respond slightly differently. Laser hair removal centers should charge for just one treatment at a time. A reputable medical office or medical spa offering laser hair removal will offer individual treatments and not insist on payment of multiple treatments up front.
Pricing:
Because lasers for hair removal are much faster today than ever before, prices should be lower as well. An office offering laser hair removal can charge less for a laser hair removal treatment of the legs taking just 20 minutes vs. a 2 hour treatment with an older generation laser. Avoid centers offering “specials” on treatment packages, particularly if there is pressure to buy because a “special” is set to expire.
Consultation:
A complimentary consultation should be available for you to visit the facility, meet the laser technician and experience a spot test with the laser.
When considering a hair removal laser treatment, consumers should ask the following questions:
1) Is this laser FDA approved for hair removal on my skin type and hair color?
2) What is the spot size of the laser? In order for a laser to perform quickly and most effectively, it should have an 18mm spot size
3) Is the laser equipped with a dynamic cooling device (DCD)? This is the safest and most consistent method of cooling the skin. It ensures patient safety and comfort.
4) Is there a board-certified physician on site? A facility without appropriate medical supervision may not be the safest environment for a laser procedure.
5) Are treatments sold in a package or one at a time? Businesses that want your money up front may not have the confidence that their laser will perform effectively. A client should be able to pay for treatments as needed without paying all at once.
6) Are complimentary consultations and spot tests available? You should be able to meet the technician and experience a pulse or two before committing to a treatment.

When laser hair removal first appeared in doctor offices almost a decade ago, consumers complained about the pain — like a stiff rubber band snap — and the lengthy time needed to treat large areas — about an hour for lower legs. Today, thanks to advances in technology that eliminate these problems, laser hair removal is among the most popular non-surgical procedures for women nationwide and a growing trend among men.
According to Dr. Michelle Ehrlich, dermatologic surgeon at Palos Verdes Dermatology Associates, the driving force behind the new interest in laser hair removal is the arrival of new systems like the Arion alexandrite that are half as painful and twice as fast as other laser systems.
“Patients now have a more comfortable experience with laser hair removal,” said Dr. Ehrlich. “As a result, they’re willing to try treatments on larger
areas like legs, back, abdomen and chest.”
Dr. Ehrlich noted that another benefit with the Arion is the use of scanners that create perfect shapes for the laser beam. Physicians can set the scanner to focus the laser in perfectly straight lines, creating a perfect bikini line. Oval shapes are ideal for underarms, and rectangles help cover
large areas and avoid skipping or double-pulsing spots.
Because hair grows in three distinct stages, more than one treatment is needed for best results. An average of 4-8 treatments is usually required at
4-6 week intervals. After that, according to Dr. Ehrlich, patients are virtually hair-free and may come in for a touch-up annually.
Dr. Ehrlich recommends alexandrite lasers as best for people with light skin and dark hair. This type of laser targets the melanin found in the hair
follicle, thereby reducing hair growth. Patients with darker skin should ask their doctor about the newest Nd:YAG lasers, such as the Mydon, that use innovative cooling mechanisms to minimize discomfort and pigmentation changes.
“Once our patients realize that laser hair removal is less painful than waxing and more convenient than shaving, they are very enthusiastic,” said Dr. Ehrlich.

SanJoseLaserHairRemoval.Com has expanded again by adding the Lowen Laser Institute in San Jose, California to their rapidly growing site. Patients throughout the San Jose area will now be able to visit SanJoseLaserHairRemoval.Com in order to find information concerning this participating clinic.
The Lowen Laser Institute is dedicated to bringing you the most up-to-date laser technology available. They provide state-of-the-art treatment for all skin conditions for which laser treatment is recognized as effective. Laser treatments are provided either by Dr. Lowen or his specially-trained team of registered nurses as appropriate. Dr. Lowen has had a long interest in laser medicine and surgery. He was one of the first physicians in the Bay Area to introduce lasers for skin resurfacing, laser hair removal and tattoo treatment. For laser hair removal, the Lowen Laser Institute selected the Candela GentleLASE™ with Dynamic Cooling, which is believed to be the safest, most effective and cost-effective laser available today.
Lasers have been used for many years for a variety of medical cosmetic procedures including treatment of facial and leg veins, age spots and smoothing fine lines on the face. The GentleLASE™, a revolutionary long-pulse high-energy Alexandrite laser system, emits a beam of light that passes through the skin, to the hair follicle, where it is absorbed. The laser energy is transformed into heat, which disables the follicle, leaving the surrounding skin unchanged.
Your skin is protected from heat injury by the Dynamic Cooling Device, which places a burst of cryogen spray onto the skin before and after the laser pulse. Not only does this protect you against thermal injury, it makes the treatment much more comfortable. When large areas such as the back and legs are being treated you will appreciate the difference between the GentleLASE™ and other hair removal lasers.
